Kathleen Flynn Peterson elected Vice President of IATL

The International Academy of Trial Lawyers (IATL) elected Kathleen Flynn Peterson of Ciresi Conlin LLP as Vice President at its annual meeting on March 21, 2021.  “I am honored to be elected Vice President of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers,” said Kathleen. “I look forward to working with colleagues of the Academy as front-line workers for protecting and advancing the Rule of Law in our country and across the globe.”

“Throughout her career, Kathleen has shown the highest dedication to the legal profession and the rule of law,” said partner Michael V. Ciresi. “I can’t think of a better person to help lead the Academy into the future. We are incredibly proud of Kathleen for her passionate commitment to both her clients and to bettering the legal profession.”

The International Academy of Trial Lawyers was founded in 1954. It is recognized as the most prestigious organization of trial lawyers in the world. The IATL’s general purposes are to cultivate the science of jurisprudence, promote reforms in the law, facilitate the Administration of Justice, and elevate the standards of integrity, honor, and courtesy in the legal profession.

As an invitation only organization, after rigorous vetting of peers and judges, it is limited to just 500 US Lawyers, approximately 1/10 of 1% of all attorneys practicing in America. Additionally, there are some 150 Academy Fellows from 40 countries around the globe.

Kathleen was inducted in 2002 into the IATL. She has served as the IATL Chair of the Admissions Committee, on its Board of Directors, and held the office of Dean prior to taking the Vice Presidency, for a 1-year term.
